BOOKS/ WEBSITES
Hi
I was wondering if anyone knew of any great websites and books that new tefl teachers could use for lesson plans, game ideas, and grammar.
Im looking at teaching a mixture of groups and one-to-one so any books that can show the various.
Any ideas that any of u might have please feel free to comment as the prospect of going out there in a real life teaching situation is daunting so any kind help would be appreciated.
Peace to all
Marg

Re: BOOKS/ WEBSITES
For books, my favourites are the Focus on Grammar series. They have reading, writing, and listening exercises that follow along with the main grammar topics. If a student can use the skills in those books, they are going to be successful. I really feel they do a great job of covering everything necessary to be fluent in English.
For websites, I think mine are pretty good, so check them out.
For teaching ideas: www.eslteachingideas.blogspot.com/
For general English skills: www.learnenglish-online.com/
I also really like englishpage.com and eslgold.com, which are both good for grammar.
Good luck!

Hi there,
For one to one here is a great book of games for children and there is video demo to go with it, ideal for new teachers to see one way that things can be done:
www.homeenglishteacher.com
And then for groups and classes there are books of games, a preschool curriculum of games, songs and stories, and role-plays and skits - all on this site:
www.teachingenglishgames.com
All the best

Re: BOOKS/ WEBSITES
i think students need the better habits of reading..because it will develop the students thinking capacity and also they can improve their creativity through better reading, and also each reading they will get more and more new informations, so the teachers always try to improve the reading habit of students...:)

A little self promotion... But I've been working on a site that contains lots of great free information on improving english skills. I'm adding more content all of the time... And if anybody takes a look at it, I'd love to hear some feedback! PM me with any comments...

Hi there,
Here is my suggestion for a website you might find useful.
http://teachers.onlineenglishexpert.com
On this website you will find lesson plans, which follow the CEFR guideline, meaning that the lesson plans are prepared for levels A1, A2, B1, B2 etc. The plans have Presentation, Practice, Grammar and Production stages. The also include Answer Sheets for download.
Some ideas about games and class activities can also be found there.
Hope this helps! :)
