Is a distance TESOL MA recognized/worth doing?

Unread post by Acuyo89 »

Hi there,

I'm already teaching for a language school out in the Gulf, but I'm considering investing time/money in a distance MA in order to be able to teach for a University (I already have DELTA).

Does anybody know if Universities in the Gulf recognize DISTANCE or ONLINE MAs?

If so, can anyone recommend any good ones? I heard that the one from Nottingham University is good, but takes nearly 3 years to complete, whereas the one from Sunderland Uni only takes 15 months. Is there a huge difference?

Thanks in advance,

I've also heard that Reading University do a good MA programme.

I don't know what is recognised in the Gulf.

Most recruiters in the Gulf don't recognize online scholarship. Which makes one wonder about offers that throw in an online masters to draw recruits in...
