The China Foreign Teachers Union Spam Satire (Part 2)
As it has been suggested I’m a China foreign teacher recruiter, here’s my tongue in cheek part 2 follow up to ‘The China Foreign Teachers Union Spam Satire.’ https://www.tefl.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8943 John V55 is the director of ‘Go Suckers’ recruitment agency on the TEFL.net forum. We specia...

The ‘others’ being the spammers, because no one used it except for headers until they arrived and started a new trend.

Re: Exposing Chinese TEFL Scams and Spam on TEFL.net
Cricket, welcome back. Haven’t seen you in a while, is it your turn now? I've never worked in Mongolia so can’t comment on that. Doesn’t mean I didn’t visit other parts and talk to other teachers. Scams exist everywhere, it’s just that larger cities will attract more scammers because there are more...

I’ve started using large. If you use standard the following large font drowns it out, which I suppose is why they started using it.TheNightBeak wrote: ↑13 Apr 2021, 14:03 What's with the huge font? If you want people to take you seriously, use a standard size.

Re: Exposing Chinese TEFL Scams and Spam on TEFL.net
Oh yes before I forget, I especially liked this part. "John is either a recruiter for public schools in Mongolia (90% of his posts talk about how great it is to work for public schools in the artic North of China) or he simply has not worked in China for a few years after hitting the age limit...

Re: Exposing Chinese TEFL Scams and Spam on TEFL.net
The thread has nothing to do with Inner Mongolia and these kind of replies highlight why you should stay away from the link baits. Without even clicking on them I guarantee you will find no information, just a never ending series of other links which will keep you busy for hours. If you don’t get c...

Exposing Chinese TEFL Scams and Spam on TEFL.net
Every now and again I’ll just pop-up to expose the 90% scam and spam nonsense on TEFL.net as it veers off into Chinese TEFL fantasy land and why not? Exposing it might help those starting out from getting embroiled in the same scams they’re being led into. If you’re stuck at the level of anonymous ...

Re: Chinese TEFL: State v Private
Nonsense. It’s impossible to get scammed unless you agree to join in. My resume is online and if yours isn’t it’s like having a business without advertising the product. Equally, someone wants a scan of my passport they can have it. Neither of these will get you into my bank account and the recruite...

Re: 90% of TEFL teachers in Japan China and Korea have illegal contracts and cheating themselves
It’s gone very quiet. The thread isn’t about me. It’s about the tiny minority who have already been scammed and are trying to offer advice on how to try to find short cuts to get around the gullibility that got them scammed in the first place. I suppose I could have gone from school to school every...

Re: 90% of TEFL teachers in Japan China and Korea have illegal contracts and cheating themselves
So where else in China have you taught besides Mongolia and what was the last year you taught in China John? I’ve just told you in the above post I left China in January 2018, which means I taught up to leaving. I’ve never had to jump from one job to another as no one would renew my contract, got s...

Re: 90% of TEFL teachers in Japan China and Korea have illegal contracts and cheating themselves
No Atlas, I’m not ‘grossly misinformed’, TEFL is no different in Inner Mongolia to any other location in China. The tiny minority who would sign contracts in a foreign language exist only in the business run bottom end of TEFL, lured there by the same gullibility and greed your links are directing ...

Re: Beware! The TEFL Teacher Vacation Contract Trap - A Costly Scam
Like it or not, we live in an age of third-party recruiters. Schools and businesses employ them because they pay them a certain amount and for that they will do all the bureaucratic legwork of interviews and visas to get the employer a teacher. The director knows how much they’re paying the recruite...

Re: Your link. I clicked on the link and was so surprised that it didn't tell me anything but took me to eight spam filled pages from the CFTU, with so many links I didn’t bother to go any further. ‘I will guess you might be pretty shocked or upset right about now and I don’t want to tuin your day, ...

Re: 90% of TEFL teachers in Japan China and Korea have illegal contracts and cheating themselves
It’s just the usual spam. All contracts are in Chinese and English. If someone is willing to sign a contract in a foreign language they can’t read whose fault is that? It's a tiny minority who are affected by scams. People travel to the other side of the world and sign a contract they can't read and...

Chinese TEFL: State v Private
No one is disputing TEFL scams exit in all countries, but they’re particularly active in China because of demand. They operate in the private sector because they can bypass education requirements as they’re a business. "The myth about foreign teachers reflects some parents' superficial understa...

Re: I found a way to get out of a bad China TEFL contract legally without a loss or problems
Naw, I’m not negative or a recruiter or have a grudge about anything or anyone. I know spammers and scams when I see them. Look on me as a realist; as someone who knew you were going to get scammed before it happened and the one who rolls his eyes the next time it happens and mutters, 'Oh FFS, not a...

Depends on where. You could teach in some countries in language centres, but not in schools. A degree is also getting to the point of a must have nowadays.

I vote we add to the list of pictured worthies, Blue Moon. We now know that for between ¥5 to 10,000, the CFTU will get you out of the mess you got yourself into in the first place. DIY job search advice for highly paid jobs on anonymous spam webpages, get scammed, pay an organization to sort it out...
