Re: Lucrative Online ESL positions teaching adults?

That per hour, I would think your chances would be better teaching Mandarin to US stockbrokers? Ha Ha I other words good luck. First, it seems you need a CELT and an EU passport, but I've only been looking in that market for a year. If you have an 'in' you may get a start for less. James, USA, BA. M...

Re: Russian age limit law?

That is useful information. I am determined to live and work in Russia. My Grandmother left Russia as a young woman fleeing the Nazi invasion. She was an elegant lady educated in a classical manner there. I was fortunate to have been taught violin and painting by her. I have to live in Russia as my ...

Re: Russian age limit law?

Well, you could be calling me a liar! but I know you wouldn't do that. What is wrong is I am 77 years old. I have applied for every job I've seen in Central/Eastern Europe for the past 5 months. Would like to review my resume for me? I am looking for real info. Do you have any?

Re: Asking for input (about age)

I am 77 married to a lovely Phillapina now 40ish (her candor). 15 yrs ago we bought a remote small mountainside farm I have restored to natural habitat so now live isolated in the woods....

Re: Russian age limit law?

I don't see how I did not make it to the actual interview stage. Maybe I used "old words". lol I actually did say I was not a TV clown to one that was an online teaching position. Most of the new hip online companies recruiting to teach in China seem to want that type. I am more a Mr. Roge...

Russian age limit law?

I have been turned down for several Jobs In Russia. The latest one said The laws prevented them from hiring me. This was in Moscow. My guess is they are referring to my age (above 75). I asked them politely as a matter of information what law they were referring to but no reply. Does anyone know spe...

Re: Asking for input

In the same age bracket etc. I too have looked at teaching English online. it is not particularly creative nor fulfilling as I can tell but the biggest factor is an international competition for these jobs has driven down wages currently offered to approx $7.00 per 45 min class. If I was doing it fo...

Age upper limit?

Finding an opportunity to teach does seem to me to have an upper age limit. As a retired and pensioned USA Public School teacher with 30+ years licensed K-12, teaching adjudicated teen boys, adult men's prison, and conversational English in Peru and Mexico. My education includes two Bachelor of Arts...
