These kind of students are the worst. It's just not possible to teach them efficiently. The only thing I can suggest is that you give them one or two extra classes so that you can teach them basics and make them understand the basic theories and concepts. Sometimes I face this issue. I realize that students tend not to ask what a particular word's meaning is and that leads to a lot of confusion later on.
Then there is an issue of losing interest in the lesson that I am teaching.
