Re: Is Best Learning Worst China TEFL Teacher Employer?

Based on my one year of working with Beile aka Best Learning I have to say I was never more stressed and nervous in my life. I was so lucky because the day I had to go to the hospital for my body check to keep my Blue Cross insurance active, the PSB raided my school in Wudaokou and arrested 18 of th...

How to deal with rich spoiled Chinese students -"little emperors" ?

I teach English to primary school kids at an international school that has a mix of German, Dutch, Russian and Chinese kids. The Chinese kids ignore the class rules, eat snacks in class and sometimes play games on their cell phones because as they say to me... "I am here only because my mother ...

Beware of Hampson English in China friends... Bad News - Wage Scam

I am so glad I turned their offer down two months ago. Although their office looked clean and professional I thought it was strange that none of the foreign teachers I saw there would talk with me about the school. They just walked away from me and only one said she "would rather not give me he...

They are also using this clever We Chat (wei xin) app to pull in a huge net of their next victims. They almost got me because i had two calls with them before I realized it was the same Laowai Group posted in this thread. Actually my Chinese GF caught on before i did. Re: Working in China (Asia) - The Real Facts

With all due respect John you were on the lucky side of the coin, and so far me too. I only got cheated once. But the CSP and CFTU stats show that 48% of expats working in China get scammed at least once a year, including my GF and my roomie. Of course, you are right about "not breaking the law...

Re: It's not all the fault of Chinese recruiters

You are 10% right John. Unlicensed China TEFL Teacher job recruiters are only responsible for 90% of the exploitation, identity theft, and skimmimg. The blacklisted, unregistered schools account for the other 10% of the problems IMO. https://www.scam.com/entry.php?6458-Spotting-a-Scam-TEFL-Teacher-J...
