Emotional Support Animals

Unread post by BillyH »

Look, I'm all for being emotionally supported. We all have our good days and bad days, but the emotional support animal craze is getting out of control. One of my students wants to bring an emotional support African Grey Parrot to class. How would you guys handle this? Personally I thought it was kinda cool the first few days, but it's a bit ridiculous how well the guy keeps up with the lessons. It's getting to be a bit too much of a distraction. One day a student yelled out an explicit word, and the parrot picked up on his. The whole class laughed and repeated it for the next two weeks. The parrot can laugh too, and he loves to do so. Yet another distraction for the kids. Things are getting out of hand. gah. I'm worried there might be MORE emotional support animals in the future. What's next? An emotional support aardvark? An emotional support alligator? Maybe he can eat the other ones and then we won't have to deal with it anymore.
