Teaching dogs to speak English
Hello,
I'm a private teacher and all is going well, but now the family wants me to teach their dogs english, since they only listen to Japanese. Who has got experience with this.

I have no experience of teaching dogs but if I had to, I would probably use the Silent Method or Silent Way, which involves cuisenaire rods. One of the the main criticisms of the Silent Method is that it lacks meaningful communication, but this could be an advantage in your case.

Are you sure you should be teaching their dogs English?
I have the hardest time teaching my dog. She has English, Korean and Thai spoken to her and will only sit or lay down in each language ( as long as I'm holding a treat in my hand)

Spanish dogs
I have adopted a Spanish dog and she disobeys me as much whether I talk to her in Spanish or English! So do her pups.
That's because she's a Meditarranean dog. An East Asian dog won't need words, they will be so senstive to your feelings it will seem like they are reading your mind. An English dog will do what you say but with so much attitude you will wish you hadn't asked them

Teaching dogs English
Many years ago I watched a programme on TV in which somebody taught their dog how to say 'sausages'.
