Hi all,
I've just completed a weekened TEFL course and I'm thinking of offering my services to non-English-speaking people in my area (I'm planning to go abroad in a year or so). Basically, I have two questions:
1) Where might be good places to advertise?
2) What would be a good rate to charge?
Any advice would be most welcome.

Where are you?
Re: Teaching locally
West Midlands (near Coventry). I was thinking of charging about £5-10 per hour
Re: Teaching locally
Before going abroad get a good experience in your profession. For local area teaching try to get information from local newspaper. All the best.
Re: Teaching locally
Actually, in TEFL it is the exact opposite and you generally need experience abroad before you can get work back home. Another alternative might be online teaching. I think you'll be lucky to get anything back home with no experience and just a weekend cert, but worth a try I guess.
