How long does it take to prepare the Cambridge TEFL exams?

Unread post by Richardspain »

Hi, I have been given the job of organising the scheme of work for a new language school and I am struggling to find out how long each Cambridge course takes.

The school is for adults and they want each course to do a Cambridge exam at the end of each year, but how long does it take to prepare for each exam? For example approximately how many hours of class does it take to get from
1. Zero to KET
2. KET to PET
3. PET to FCE

Each course in the language school will be approximately 80-100 hours of class time (Sept to May), can I do each step in a year? or does PET to FCE take longer? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Richard

How long does Cambridge exam preparation take?

Richard,

You could take a look at the link below:

http://www.cambridgeesol.org/exams/exam ... index.html

It should take you to the UCLES FAQ page where your question is answered in full.

I've just spent some time on the UCLES website and it wasn't easy to find the answer to your question. It's hidden away!

If the link doesn't work, go to UCLES EFL exams home page; click on exams / FAQs (hidden in the bottom right) / General Main Suite.

Hope this helps,

Lucy
