Re: URGENT!!! need feedback on job offer in South Korea!!
Can't remember what a typical salary is in Korea, but covering rent and bonuses when you leave are typical. Can the owner put you in contact with previous or other current teachers?

Re: More interesting ways to teach grammar?
Mark's idea may be useful, if for adults more than for young learners, but it doesn't sound particularly interesting.
It's a bit of a huge question, adiisrael. Can you give us an example grammar point for your students?

That's quite a good idea. Google my article "The perfect CV and cover letter for a TEFL teacher" for more tips on padding out a CV.

Re: TEFL online course i-to-i? or CELTA
i-to-i is not a scam, but it has no more recognition from employers than any other online course, and you do of course get what you pay for. You need practical teaching experience to be able to teach, and you can only get that from face to face courses like the CELTA.

"TEFL" is a generic name that obviously refers to all TEFL courses. I meant which company are you taking your TEFL course with?

Re: Teaching Demo
It still seems like a lesson for older kids for me. Three year olds, especially, would respond much better to and actually learn more from touching and moving real body parts, e.g. balancing a piece of plastic fruit on the body parts that are called out, doing the actions from Eric Carle's From Head...

Re: Teaching Demo
Five minutes isn't long, is it? Will you be really teaching actual kids, or just demonstrating what you would do in the interview? If it's real kids, I'd probably do numbers, as it's easier to vary what you present depending on what they already know. Do counting up with fingers, then if they can re...

You seem on the right track, except I'm not sure what "grammar equations" are. It might be worth actually mentioning how you're studying, e.g. which books you're reading.

Re: UC Berkeley Certificate, still need CELTA?
That was "matter", now this is Alex! I don't think you need the CELTA as well. Most jobs ask for "CELTA or equivalent", so your job on your CV and cover email/ letter is to prove right at the top that your qualification is more than equivalent. The most important thing is the num...
