Re: TEFL certificate : online?

ICAL_Pete does offer an exceptional program for online TEFL training. In the spirit of fair play, I would say there are many options out there for consideration that you can get information and make inquiries. I represent KEI - TEFL and would have to say that what ICAL_Pete mentions regarding the va...

Re: TEFL/TESOL - Weekend or Intensive 4 week Course

Check out the KEI - TEFL training program as well. It is online and customized to meet the needs of educators currently working who need additional training. If you want more details PM me, or just follow the link in the signature line. The course has options for getting the OTP (Observed Teacher Pr...

Options...

There are some good online programs out there if you are looking for something to get you ready...Some will portray online as low quality and not worth the money, but use your own judgment when making a decision...If you want more details just send me a PM as well...Thanks

Teacher Certification...

FYI... Before you can receive teaching certification in the USA you must go through a teacher education program from a University. That is unless you are simply planning on working through a community ed. program which allows for lesser qualifications...I know, since I have been certified and licens...

Visa question...

You should see about obtaining your work visa for Taiwan while you are in China or any other place where they have a consulate to cover such matters. Here is a link that details the information you need to know regarding a resident work visa. Don't get stuck by listening to people who don't know. Yo...

Programs...

There are good programs for much less money. CELTA is the grand daddy of programs because it was the first major player in the industry. However, people have begun to realize that a program can be high quality and inexpensive at the same time. I you want a guest pass into a program that is both high...

Opinion...

There are so many fly by the seat of your pants programs out there that they give online training a bad name...There ARE legitimately good online programs, but you must be sure of what you get for your money. The program offered by teflonline is not what it is supposed to be. There are other program...

Other than the people promoting their own programs I would say there is not a truly comprehensive website outlining the scorecards on TEFL training programs. The best option would be to do your homework before ever spending money on a program. Programs claiming to be accredited may or may not actual...

Obviously, you should have some working and academic background in Education if you are planning on obtaining a PhD with a language emphasis...However, this doesn't mean you should spend 15 years getting ready to do it...I have worked as an educator for the better portion of my adult life, and I am ...

My Preference...

If it was me, I would opt for the PhD in Education which in the long run will give the maximum advantage regardless of where you go...(That is of course if the program is good) You could certainly get a Uni job with a PhD in Education much easier than if you had a MA TESOL, but it really depends on ...

Depends...

It really depends on where you want to teach. I completed my M.Ed. in the United States several years ago, and I came to Korea and was promptly placed in a private school teaching pre-schoolers. Nothing wrong with that, but it really didn't suit the 19 years of public high school I had taught as a l...

Remember to keep everything in perspective. You can only do what you can do.
