I have the hardest time teaching my dog. She has English, Korean and Thai spoken to her and will only sit or lay down in each language ( as long as I'm holding a treat in my hand)

It's going to be costly. A lot depends on your lifestyle and how much you want to spend/save between trips. Kangsan are located in Busan and they always seem to have competetive prices.Their website is : http://kangsantravel.com As always though, it's best to make a call to travel agents in Korea, r...

Hi Sellonana, It may help to decide upon which country you wish to go to for volunteering first. Once you have narrowed that down, look into taking a course within that country if one is offered. It will give you a head start on the culture etc. Tefl international is the largest Tefl cert program (a...

Good for you that you are thinking about getting some training ! Many people don't - but those who do find the work MUCH easier - and are much happier with their jobs.Any additional training or skills you might have or demonstrate can only help you in landing a good job. For me, the motivating facto...

Hi Leigh, You may be able to take on a winter camp in China to get you started. More and more these days there is a requirement for a university education, but I think that China is still possible in your circumstances. Please look into getting at least a TEFL certificate though, especially if you h...

Hi Troy, It all depends on where you think you'll end up working. In most cases you can get by with a nice shirt and pair of pants. If you had a job in a uni. then a suit could very well be expected of you. In an academy, most of us dressed casually. Ruth http://tefldaddy.com/Korea_Discussison_Board...

Hi Troy, Yes, you'll always read horror stories out of Korea, however I think things are getting better. I also think that people sometimes get a kick out of posting negative stuff and maybe embellishing it a little. I just spent the last three years over there and met loads of foreign teachers who ...

Thanks for asking ! :) Korea is a mixed bag like anywhere else. It gets a bad rap on internet forums, however bad news is always more interesting to read about and talk about right? I have found that many people are in Korea getting on with their lives, enjoying it, meeting people, having fun, savin...

I would agree with the previous poster. Smaller cities may be the way to go. Even the smaller places will have a lot going on. I wouldn't totally discount an academy, I have known it to work out for Korean/Canadian Korean/Americans etc.

The only way that is possible is by working for summer or winter camps, as far as I know. Most places have hired for summer camps already as it can take a while to get the paperwork sorted out. Still may be worth checking the job boards specific to the countries you are interested in though. Ruth ht...

Hi Kimbo,
What do you mean by short term?
Most countries in Asia want at least a year unless you want to teach a summer or winter camp.
