Hello,
I'm thinking about possibly starting a tefl certification in the Fall, but was wondering how my speech may effect things. I have a moderate speech impediment where I at times cannot pronounce "r" sounds. It's not terribly bad as I can still communicate well and a lot of people just assume I'm British or Australian, however it does cause some issues. I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas about how this may effect my teaching/ chances of employment.

I don't think it's an issue. I have the same thing. If it's slight, it won't matter. When teaching your students pronunciation, you can use a recording instead of modelling words yourself. You can also learn techniques to help yourself pronounce words with the correct r sound.
