Summer reading assignment for beginners

Unread post by nastasi »

Hi! I'm looking for an e-book or short stories as a summer reading home task for my 10 y.o. SS.

We started very recently and hardly managed to cover family and age. Basically, we just practiced the first meeting dialogues - introducing yourself and your family, also saying where you live. They as well learned colours and some clothing. That's it.

So my idea is that they read, translate and illustrate or better make comics out of the texts. Can you tell me where i can find some stories that include the things we learned? Perhaps there's also an app that would simplify texts according to the levels?

You might try StoryJumper.com . Unfortunately, the books are not searchable by reading level, but You can skim through them. Two books I wrote are not about what You taught but are very simple phonetics books: Sam and Pat and Ted and Fred.
