Do I need a PGCE?

Unread post by Allophony »

I have a BA(hons) and I'm getting a qualification with I to I.

I am in Britain.

If I want to teach children do I need to get a PGCE? What do I need to do to get a job in a school?

Depends where and what you want to teach.
If you want to teach in a state school in the UK, a PGCE is needed.
If you want to teach EFL to children abroad, different qualifications are needed.

Generally
Two years experience
Verifiable degree
TEFL certificate (you don't need a PGCE)
Clean criminal record
Anything less than that is probably a scam.
