Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice please. I have just started teaching in a primary school. I am the first Native English speaking teacher the school has had. I have been asked to teach kindergarten to Grade 6. They have been using Express English activity books which they want me to continue using but I have been asked to add my own curriculum to it. I have never taught such a broad age range before and I have no idea where to start. I'm not so worried about kindergarten as I know what to do there, it's the rest I am concerned about. I don't have anyone to talk to at the school as their English is very limited. Any advice on a starting point would be great. :)

I always think it's good to base your lessons around an age appropriate story. You can pick some language from the story and focus on it through a game, song or other activity.

You can plan around the pictures, and use the pictures as activities/ games.
e.g., teach letter M= Mad monkey. Children can pretend to be mad monkeys. Bring milk to school. Draw monkey masks.
Be mad monkeys drinking milk!
I assure you, they will not forget!!!
