Lucrative Online ESL positions teaching adults?

Unread post by Moosewala » 16 Jul 2020, 06:59

Hello everyone,,
I'm aware that teaching children/young learners is "where the money is", so to speak - and most online ESL companies mentioned on this sub that teach adults usually pay teachers somewhere in the range of 9-14 USD starting.

However, I'm wondering if there are any opportunities to teach adults that start at 24/USD per hour or higher? Can anyone point me in the right direction on this?

You probably need to be teaching more specialised English such as Business English, Legal English, English for military etc. Do you have a background that you can leverage in that respect?

Also, teaching privately whether face to face or online would generally pay more if you can find the students.

That per hour, I would think your chances would be better teaching Mandarin to US stockbrokers? Ha Ha
I other words good luck. First, it seems you need a CELT and an EU passport, but I've only been looking in that market for a year. If you have an 'in' you may get a start for less.
