Some good and bad automobile tax news for Expats working in China...

First the good news...I just read in the CTA newsletter that a foreigner can still bring one car into China tax free without expensive duties and fees. But the bad news is that in 2022 that law will change drastically. In 2022 you will not be able to bring in any car that is more than 2 years old and you will not be able to bring it in to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing or Wuhan, due to traffic congestion. But we will still be able to buy and used Chinese car that is less than 5 years old. They did not say anything about motorcycles or buying a used car from a fellow foreigner who leaves. Bloody hell, My Camry is 6 years old. I wonder if they will notice?
