China government offering $3,000 reward for unlicensed schools, recruiters, teachers

I had heard about this before but thought it was a joke. I just got this link in a CTA newsletter my BF gets. https://www.reddit.com/r/TeflReviews/co ... ded_a_tip/ It looks like the Chinese are finally trying to purge the riff-raff that cause all the problems heH?

This is long overdue a great way to prevent teachers from being exploited and cheated by the TEFL food chain predators, especially the black market private schools and training centers that do not have SAIC business licenses or a SAFEA registration or a tax ID number. But rewards will also be paid to victims who report any illegal TEFL recruiter or job agent that:

* Does not have a physical office in China

* Does not have an active SAIC business license

* Is not registered with SAFEA

* Does not have a valid TAX ID number in China

* Charges you more than 1 months salary

* Makes you sign an illegal contract that violates or forfeits your employee rights

All of the above violates China labor laws so this reward program should keep recruiters and agents honest OR using completely fake names so you can't report them.

Holy Moley Batman! Dozens of teachers are going to be rolling in the green within days of seeing this news. My guess is that fully half of all the private schools in China will be turned in. Seriously, I have taught at 7 schools in China and 5 of them screwed all the teachers and 3 of them fit the rewards requirements. I think this is the one time we are justified to be a snitch considering all they money they stole from us with one trick or another. I will surely get mine.

This Reward program has been going on since 2015 as more than 15,000 fake TEFL teachers who were arrested, fined, jailed and deported during the past years can tell you. This also came out in 2017

But is refreshing to see that they are finally going after the crooks who run the black market schools and the unethical recruiters who fill them with the fake teachers. Funny how money talks louder than just policy proclamations!

IMO opinion teacher aides and expat teachers are going to be raking in the bonus snitch dollars soon!
