FOLLOW THE LAW - NOT THE ADVICE OF TEACHER JOB AGENTS!

Too many teacher job applicants to China listen more to aggressive but "friendly" TEFL recruiters and job agents without ever actually checking the labor and visa laws of their destination country. They are then shocked and amazed when they end up like this guy here...

Seriously, if you want to teach overseas in any country, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to know the law and have the right work visa and genuine diploma in hand B E F O R E you even board the airplane. Otherwise you have no right to bitch and moan when you spend your last 30 days abroad in a jail cell! No matter whether you like or agree with laws in foreign countries, you must respect and follow them. To see a few hundred of those who thought they could outsmart the system, watch the below video and visit https://chinascampatrol.wordpress.com

I agree with you vagabond but I think at least half of these fake teachers are knowingly breaking the law because they end up buying phony university diplomas. They are rolling the dice and I have no sympathy for them at all. They are getting what they deserve since it is these assholes that take away a job from a real teacher and they will work fo half the salary as the rest of us. So it would not bother me a bit if another 5,000 wannabe fake teachers are arrested and thrown in jail. Maybe they will learn the lesson their parents obviously didn't teach them! https://www.studyinternational.com/news ... ers-china/

You know what? The reason so many foreigners "ignore Chinese law" its because all the announcements are always in Chinese with no English announcements! How can we even know when the new laws come out if they are only put out in Chinese? Seriously.

That a good point but still not an excuse when you get busted. Everyone thinks it will never happen to them. 50% are not good odds.
