2020 CTA TEFL Course Blacklist - Have YOU been scammed?

I confess that I bought into the hype of a beautiful website in the U.K. and signed up for an expensive TEFL Course that sold for $699 only to learn that 1. One of my colleagues bought the same identical course for $499, and 3. yet another one of our mutual colleagues got a huge discount and only paid $99 for the same identical course, then 4) all of us saw the same company is reported as a scam on many scam reporting site using 3 different names to rip people off for years and lastly 5. The companies have been blacklisted more than 10 years by the CTA, CFTU, ETA, and ChinaScamWatch.org! I won't mention the name of these 3 British companies but you can read about them here:

BTW... The only explanation we all paid different prices for the same TEFL course was because I bought after getting only two sales, calls, and my colleagues took 5 and 7 calls before they caved to the high pressure sales calls and agreed to sign up. I regret not waiting a few more calls now. What a great sales tactic heh?

Of course every has different opinions but when companies start making fake claims of being endorsed by official governments and big name universities and are "certified" and "accredited" teachers have a right to ask for the proof of these claims right? When that proof is never provided and questions are simply ignored, I think it is time to ring the alarm bell - unless all you really care about is just getting some paper that proves YOU took and completed a TEFL course, real or not. Personally I believe the DTA, CFTU, and ETA when they say "The best and most legitimate TEFL Courses are given by accredited universities". That is why I am posting their official 2020 TEFL Course Blacklist here - for those who actually care about the quality and legitimacy of what they are buying with their hard-earned money. https://www.docdroid.net/kRwv0oN/ctablacklist2020-pdf[

This list is badly needed, but there are more over at https://reddit.com/r/teflreviews and https://reddit.com/r/workabroadfraud, and also https://reddit.com/r/reddit.com/r/tefl_tips_traps_scams . If all of you add what you know and experienced it would also help warn others.

Thankfully I took the Cambridge course years ago, before all these money-hungry scammers came on to the scene. My advice about TEFL courses is always the same,,, Take your course only from a truly accredited university even if you have to pay $100 more. Your certificate will always be accepted and respected no matter where you go.

I suggest you all read the posts about fake accreditation and fake reviews over at https://reddit.com/r/TEFL_tips_traps_scams and also https://reddit.com/r/TEFLreviews and you will find almost fifty TEFL courses using fake credentials and even making their own "Review Sites" like TrustedTEFLReviews.com who was outed here: https://chinaforeignteachersunion.wordp ... rs-beware/ Off course, if you don't care about learning anything and just want a certificate to fool people as a fake teacher, there is no need to waste your time.
