How to prepare for a CELTA course??

Unread post by FrankieB » 14 Nov 2012, 18:55

Hello my name is Frankie and I am new to this forum. I am currently applying for local CELTA courses, as I want to gain a qualification so that I am able to teach English abroad.

However it has been a while since I left education, and I am aware that although my written and spoken English are good, my grammar skills need improvement!

I was wondering if any one could advise me on the best way to prepare myself for the CELTA course, and what to expect. Having not been in education for a while, and not having a degree, I am slightly nervous. I have taught in schools in India about HIV and Aids, and I am extremely passionate and determined to achieve this qualification as it was the best experience of my life. However I am looking for a more sustainable way to travel and teach.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help!
