Re: Letter to parents

I wouldn't use the word sympathy in the letter at all though. That is one thing that I sincerely suggest. Lot...

I like the signal idea. That will really stick with the students. Also, as you put it, "After a few months, the error rate is drastically reduced". Great Stuff!

Re: Job opportunities from September onwards

For a job that starts in September, you should start out before the previous school year ends. You will be in the files before the school starts searching for new hires. Good Luck.

Re: Age and Experience

Its rough at 60 to be looking for new work. The younger teachers are out there and they are familiar with the newest tools. You bring experience but what about retirement? An employer may not see you as a long term employee. If its something you really want to do go for it. Give it your best shot, y...

I think the diversity of background would be a challenge. However, if you have each student give a little background introductory during the beginning of the semester that could be enlightening. Thanks for teaching.

Re: Tips for conversational group/Icebreakers needed!

Definitely look for fresh and interesting. There is nothing worse than reading something just for reading. When the story is fitting or at least of current interest, your students will enjoy as well as learn.
