Why do so many people "pose" and post online as "Native Speakers" when a simple name search or check of their social media profiles clearly indicates that they are in fact not?.... Spare me the racist accusations, Your Social Media Presence is generally in your first (native} language.

A Question About DRUGS

Maybe I just worked for a DRUG-FREE Employer for too many years, but I would like to know why so many TEFL Teachers (of all ages) seem to think it's ok to "Do" Drugs (Please note, I have not identified any specific country and whilst I could I have named people I have not). I am just curious why so ...

Re: Fake TEFL Accreditation websites

Mia, You have been asked more than once, I’m asking again; There's a rising chorus, from multiple online TEFL courses featured on your site, that your review site --Trusted TEFL Reviews -- is completely fake. It is believed that your real purpose for managing the review site is to promote your own T...

Mia, someone asked some pretty valid and reasonable questions about “your” site(s), Why are you unwilling to actually Answer them?

Re: How to become an English teacher in Belgium, Portugal, Croatia and Spain?

I am NOT accusing anyone of anything but posts like this usually "reek" of desperation to gain entrance to the Schengen zone, not to actually teach, but rather as a means to bypass immigration controls. Again I am not accusing anyone of anything, simply making an observation based on real-world expe...

Re: Crowdfunding to teach

Ok, I’m confused... If you are married to a Thai spouse, why do you (1) need to return to the U.K., and (2) if you have been teaching there all those years you should have a network of contacts, so work shouldn’t be an issue regardless of age and (3) Why can't you just return to the U.K. with your s...

Re: Crowdfunding to teach

Looking to go the “orient” is an unrealistic expectation, look closer to home, there are plenty of teaching opportunities for older adults here in Europe. why are you set on trying to go to Asia?

Went to SE Asia to get away from angry white men...turns out that's where the worst of them all live.

Not really sure what an “Angry White Man” is but here goes, Like you I am not going to pigeonhole/stereotype, but essentially you are correct about people “Drinking and Screwing” their way across the globe in the name of TEFL, (They do the same in Europe)what you fail to mention is that there are pr...

Non-EU friendly schools?? - Food For Thought

There are schools and employers that hire "Non-EU" but they are harder to find, and people may not like the "policy". But it exists for several reasons; 1. Since most schools/employers do not help with Visa issues, they hire "EU" because like it or not we don't need a visa or have to go through leng...

Re: am I too old?

My experience is that the industry, in general, is extremely ageist, it is easy to research maximum teaching ages in any given country with a simple google search, if you are looking for work on your own, its pretty easy to find, but most of the "Tefl Companies" (some advertising here on TEFL.net) h...
