36 Universities Deny Gi2c China Internship Partnership - Scam?

I have been laid up healing from an accident in a leg cast so I have spent a lot of time on line lately. I saw this link at another site http://eslwatch.info/forum/china/167-update-on-the-gi2c-china-internship-scam-investigation.html#496 and found it hard to believe that any company would claim to b...

Most China internships are now illegal - be wary of scams...

I subscribe to the NEA newsletter and just was sent this link as part of a notice too long to paste here (about 3000 words). http://totallyexpat.com/global-immigration-news/china-china-eliminates-internship-training-visas-foreign-students/ 127 interns were arrested and deported in 2014 because they ...

Re: China Internhip Scam Now Targeting TEFL /ESL Teachers

LOL! That poem cracked me up. But anyone who does a China internship now better be careful. If you do not have "official designation" as an intern by the PSB you are committing a felony crime according to the new visa law: http://totallyexpat.com/global-immigration-news/china-china-eliminates-intern...

Re: Is Wall Street English Or China Racist - Or Both?

I have some bad news for you folks back in the west. The whole of Asia is racist, not just the schools. OK, wipe eyes, blow nose, deep sigh and get on with it? The diversity, equality and affirmative action is largely unknown outside the west. I DO work for a racist school here in China and worked ...

Re: Truth About China TEFL & TESOL Teacher Requirements...

Awalls ... There is NO LEGAL REQUIREMENT for any teaching certificate in China to teach. You do not need a CELTA, TESOL, or TEFL certificate. It is optional and highly recommended, but NOT a mandatory requirement. Your comments suggest that they are mandatory and may confuse some readers here.

You can get work in the Philippines and Cambodia without a degree. China, Korea, Singapore and Japan are all now quite strict and no longer bend the rules like before.

Yes, you are right Norman. Appearances are a big thing in Asia and people of color have a difficult time finding good jobs in China. But this here is the biggest problem with China resumes http://chinascamwatch.wordpress.com

Re: The Best Paying China Foreign Teacher Jobs - Where To Find Them?

My new flatmate has been teaching for 6 years and she just told me about the China School white list and she use this list to get her own jobs without any agents or recruiters. So far she has not gotten ant bad schools or any that paid less than 15,000 a month. So I'm going to start using the same l...

Having any rights in China are great, but how do you enforce them? I searched this subject online and found a great explanation:

Re: Is it safe to work as Foreign Teacher in China?

I agree with Blink here and will say that physically you are safer in China than America. Violent crime is not tolerated here. But you are never safe from all the many scams and most of them come from job, visa, or travel agents. I got the below "RED FLAGS" from an expat web site that says this is h...

Re: 3,800 reasons not to use China job recruiters!

This is scary. I will never send my passport copy to anyone again unless I meet them at the school. Then I will show it to them personally. I have never seen such a detailed list of crooks and their victims. Thanks for the heads up.

Forsun Education Is Good, Bad, or Ugly? Legit or Scam?

I was looking for a new job and ran into these people but something tells me that there is something wrong because I am being told I really don't need a Z visa for my first 90 days. Is this true? What do you guys know about this company that says they are from America but their web site is registere...

Beware China foreign teachers - Resume Job Scam Is Costly!

My colleague in Harbin got a chain letter email that warned her about this and maybe it is too late for some of you. For me I guess I am lucky. This is self-explanatory: "Does this sound familiar to you... You are cruising online looking for a new teach abroad gig when you see your dream job... TEAC...

That forum is owned by a low-life Chinese guy who got caught taking money for paid ads from poachers in Africa selling body parts from slaughtered bears, tigers, rhinos, and elephants! Here's the whole story with photos: http://chinascampatrol.wordpress.com According to scam.com that "low-life Chin...

Re: 27 China Foreign Teachers & Agents Arrested 4 Fake Diplo

You are right blink. They grabbed my buddy as well for not having a Z visa and according to BTV news over 300 foreign teachers were arrested since October for the wrong visa and/or using fake diplomas. They said on the news that every month their task force will go to a different city. My guess is t...
