I am a focused and creative university graduate with a TEFL qualification for English teaching. I have experience in living and working abroad, including experience with children and with teaching. I have aims to work and live internationally. I am ambitious and enthusiastic, keen to develop my English teaching skills and increase students’ abilities of the global language. Through English teaching abroad, I will encourage students to improve their fluency and accuracy in their English speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.

Organised weekly events and socials for British and international students throughout degree.
Events included social gatherings, sushi making with a chef, group trip to London for Hyper Japan event. Worked as a team responsibly and creatively, occasionally collaborating with other societies.

June – September 2014 – Tutor To Children in Warwickshire
SAT/GCSE Tutor for Children
Tutored children aged 6-16.
Duties included assisting children with homework and guiding them through workbook tasks in English, maths and science. Required working flexibly and being friendly but firm with children. Worked individually tutoring children alone, in pairs or in small groups.

June – September 2016 – Waitress in Nottingham
Waitress at Higoi Japanese Restaurant
Worked as a waitress in a top-class authentic Japanese restaurant. Waited tables and maintained the shop front as well as assisted in preparing desserts.

October 2016 – English Teaching Assistant at Waseda Elementary School
Voluntary Teaching Assistant in English
Volunteered as an assistant English teacher in a Japanese elementary school in Tokyo. Worked with children around 10 years old to complete worksheets and converse in English. Encouraged children to work together and practice speaking skills. Encouraged students to enjoy themselves whilst completing the tasks, being friendly but firm.

July - September 2016 – English Tutoring In Tokyo
One to One Adult English Tutoring
Instructed a single intermediate adult one to one in English, emphasising British pronunciation. Explained grammar and discussed vocabulary. Followed materials chosen by the student, focusing on fluency and accuracy of language. Encouraged practice of all linguistic skills, particularly speaking and listening.

November 2017 – Au Pair in Austria
Family Based English Tutor and Child Care Assistant
Currently working as an au pair in Austria, helping with childcare of two children aged 4 and 6 years old. Encourage and guide children to practice and enhance English skills.
