Job Opening for Full-time Academic Coordinator
Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) was established in 1954 after the Korean War as Korea’s first higher education institution specialized in foreign studies, in order to promote peace in the world. Currently HUFS has grown into a prestigious university that ranks highly in the nation in global competencies. As we move towards the 100th anniversary of the university, HUFS aspires to pioneer a future as a world-class institution in pursuit of academic excellence through the consolidation of academic disciplines.
To bolster this future vision, HUFS is looking for a highly enthusiastic and experienced professional with the following qualifications and core competencies:

Qualifications
• To be considered eligible for an E-7 visa (a general work visa for “Particular Activities”), candidates are required to hold an advanced degree or equivalent, or at least five years’ work experience in the relevant field in accordance with the Immigration Control Act.
• The successful candidate should obtain an E-7 visa, which usually takes approx. 6 weeks before starting work. The university can help prepare the relevant documentation i.e. a copy of Business Registration Certificate, a copy of Employment Contract, a list of Insured Employees by Employment Insurance, and a letter of Employment Recommendation.
• HUFS shall not be allowed to hire a candidate without the proper visa type: either E-7, F2, F4, F5, F6 or equivalent, allowing the candidate both to work and stay for the period of employment.
※ It is the candidate’s sole responsibility to be eligible for the proper visa type aforementioned available for working as a full-time academic coordinator at HUFS.

• English as a first language (preferably holding a passport from an English-speaking country)

• Fluent written and spoken Korean preferred

• Excellent presentation skills

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities

• Experience working with international students in Korea strongly desired

Responsibilities
○ Coordinating the HUFS inbound international student exchange program
○ Corresponding with international partner universities and exchange students via email and in person
○ Preparing official documents for the process of obtaining student visas
○ Presenting and speaking to incoming exchange students at New Student Orientations
○ Editing and proofreading English translations of university PR materials, official documents, letters, and speeches
○ Providing support and assistance to international students at HUFS
○ Introducing international programs to the official visitors and dignitaries from partner universities and government bodies
○ Participating in screening interviews for outbound exchange students from HUFS
○ Participating in international conferences and seminars to promote the university’s international programs

Required Documents and Details
○ CV(including the type, validity, and stay period of your visa) and cover letter(including contact information and a recent photo)
○ Copies of diplomas(to be submitted upon interview)

Payment and conditions
○ Working place : International Admission & Management Team
○ Working hours : 09:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday
○ Type of Employment : Full-time term for one year(possibly extended based on an annual evaluation job performance-the total consecutive employment period shall not exceed two years as stipulated by the Law on Protection of Fixed-term Employees)
○ Salary : Negotiable based on experience
