For many years we have specialised in running tailor-made English language learning courses and exam preparation programmes based in local colleges, and providing cultural adventures around the UK for international students aged under 18.

If you’re an enthusiastic and qualified teacher who is passionate about deliver engaging, fun and inclusive English learning programmes while also introducing various aspects of UK culture then we’d love to hear from you!
Currently, we’re seeking talented and energetic teachers travel to our partner school in Hainan. Hainan is an island province of China and the nation’s southernmost point. It’s known for its tropical climate, beach resorts and forested, mountainous interior. It’s a truly beautiful place to visit, work and live!
Here, you’ll be inspiring and motivating the young and extremely inquisitive young students we have there! This means helping improve their general language skills but also help reinforce the relationships and friendships we’ve built between these two cultures through the extra-curricular activities planned outside of the classroom.
There’s even the opportunity to work with us for other projects after this including online teaching and the summer programme we hold in Cambridge. Responsibilities:
As one of our English teachers, you’ll be:
- Producing weekly lesson plans and delivering engaging English language classes that reflect our programme’s aims and objectives. We have the lesson templates and appropriately graded language material already available but hope you can supplement these with your own style and ideas. This can initially be a mentored position if you feel you need additional help to get started.
- Proficient and comfortable in creating high quality teaching material tailored to the programme objectives and templates we have available for you to use.
- Maintaining a positive, inclusive and interactive online learning environment for local students aged 11 to 18.
- Assessing and tracking students’ progress as per CEFR guidelines – whether it is a general English course or more examination specific, providing constructive feedback. Training can be given on CEFR guidelines if you’re not familiar with them or just need a refresher!
- Collaborating with fellow educators and senior staff to develop effective curriculum targets.
- Inspiring and motivating students to participate actively. For example, learning to ask when they are unsure of something.
- Accompanying students on social excursions and also participating/leading various events as/when needed by the partner school.
Qualifications and experience we’d like you to have:
- EITHER/AND a Teaching qualification such as CELTA, DELTA, TESOL or a bachelor’s degree in English, education or a related field.
- Experience with teaching mono-lingual international students, especially those aged 11 to 18, is a plus but not necessary.
- Experience of producing lesson plans which include both primary and secondary objectives would also be advantageous.
- Demonstrable experience of guiding students successfully to achieve their specific language goals.
In addition this, we hope you can show:
- Strong communication skills and a passion for teaching – creating an environment where our learners feel safe and comfortable to develop their language skills.
- Enthusiasm for working with diverse groups of young students.
- The ability to generate and maintain momentum in the curriculum and your classes.
- Proficiency in software packages such as Microsoft 365 for the purpose of creating content specific to the course’s objectives.
- The ability to draw parallels between UK and Chinese culture – and to incorporate these in your teaching material and classes.
