Getting a job after completing a course

Unread postby alexCH » Thu Mar 10, 2011 10:53 pm

Hello,
I am concidering taking the TEFL certificate course at UNITEFL in Chiang mai. I hear that it is a very good course and is highly regarded. But what I would like to know is if it is possible to get a job directly after completion, or do people have to leave the country then apply for a visa to be able to teach in the country?
I hope this was clear.
Also is UNITEFL in Chiang Mai really all that?

Thank you

I really don't know how they can have such a good reputation, seeing as they have only been going for a few months and are a direct descendant of a school which suddenly disappeared and left people stranded. More on them on my blog on TEFL.net:

Thank you alot for that, I they made it seem as if UNITEFL was what the chiang mai university used to be. Well then, could you possibly recommend a good course that I could possibly take in Bangkok or Chiang Mai?

Thank you

CELTA would seem to be the obvious choice. You can search for courses here:

I've also heard good things about SIT, and there are two courses in Thailand:
