TEFL job at camp next summer ~ am I dreaming?

Unread postby deherald » Sun Nov 21, 2010 11:45 pm

I am a High School English teacher of 2 years, with a BA, in English Education. I have 15 graduate hours in school coun.

I am wanting to enjoy this summer and work in a summer camp as an English teacher. Is this possible? I do not have a cert, but am looking at a few that would only take 4 weeks or so. Does anyone have any advice for me to get this process underway?

What Cert would you recommend and why?

I am most interested in Spain (as I have traveled for fun and it was a great exp) but would take a variety of different places etc.

Thanks in advance.

You have an unusual notion of enjoyment, but the best 4 week TEFL courses are the CELTA and the Trinity CertTESOL. These two are the most [or often only] recognized certificate courses - and the most expensive. They are externally validated and include more practical teaching hours than other courses, therefore they are more respected.
