I'm having a discussion with someone about which would suit better. Could anyone elaborate on which is best in this case?

My interest in this program stems from my love of travel.

OR

My interest in this program stems from my love of travelling.

The first one is better. A better way to say the second one would be:

I am interested in this program because I love travelling.

I hope this helps
