Eiken and CEF levels

Unread postby hollyinjapan » Fri Apr 16, 2010 1:05 am

Do you know of any comparisons between Eiken and CEF levels?

I'm starting a new teen class and many of them have taken Eiken tests but the textbooks I want to use are rated by CEF levels.

You can see a comparison of EIKEN and CEF at Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEF) Alignment. In summary it is:

1, C1
Pre-1, B2
2, B1
Pre-2, A2
3-5, A1

Note that the STEP EIKEN site itself has at least two alignment charts which contradict each other.

Hope this helps.
