Different TEFL costs?
I'm considering getting a certification from TEFL, yet I see many different sites advertising varying prices for their course. I've seen 1,300 (USD) to about 190 (USD). Why the big difference and would I possibly be wasting my money on an expensive course?

If you are taking an online course of 100 hours or less, don't spend more than $300-$400. A Trinity, CELTA, or TESL Canada course is approximately $1,500-$2,000 because the training is more intensive, a practicum module is provided, and the accreditation is highly regarded throughout the world.

Re: Different TEFL costs?
The one I'm considering is from teflinstitute.com. They offer 100 hours online and the other 20 comes from observing in the classroom. They are asking 1350.00 They say they offer assistance with resumes and placement, but even still, that seems like a lot of money.

If you go for an entry level job and you haven't studied TEFL before, then a short course is ideal. Online courses are much cheaper because they don't have the overhead of traditional schools and this saving is passed on to the student.Freightguy wrote:I'm considering getting a certification from TEFL, yet I see many different sites advertising varying prices for their course. I would suggest you take a look at
http://www.teflcoursereview.com/courses ... e-courses/
which is an independent site with reviews of courses by former students. You will see that some online courses come highly recommended.
