What is PPP?

I'm just starting out teaching and have been reading about PPP.

I've read that it's presentation, practice, production.

Can anybody tell me more about it?

Dear Carol,

Presentation is where you the teacher introduces some new language. This can be vocab or grammar.

Practice is where the students do some sort of exercise with the language. It's usually quite simple and controlled.

Production is where they have a freer speaking activity to practise the new language.
