I am looking to get onto a CELTA course and have just been sent the above.
(I have tried to do as best as I can but im not sure if what ive done is correct mine is in CAPS).
Im a little stuck I was wondering if someone could help.
Here goes:
PART A:
Read the following sentances
a)underline the error in each sentance
b)Provide a corrected version
c)describe how you would explain to a learner of English what is wrong with the sentance. You can use simple grammar terminology.
i) They go often to London- THEY OFTEN GO TO LONDON OR THEY OFTEN GO INTO LONDON
ii) My sister plays tennis marvellously tennis- MY SISTER PLAYS TENNIS MARVELLOUSLY
iii) I have been to london yesterday- I WENT TO LONDON YESTERDAY
iv)Could you give me some advices about your English course?-PLEASE COULD I HAVE SOME INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR ENGLISH COURSE?
v) Im more good at English than you are!- IM BETTER AT ENGLISH THAN YOU ARE!
PART B:
Describe the differences in meaning between the following pairs of sentances
i) He saw someone running towards her-
He saw someone run towards her.
ii)He stopped listening to me
He stopped to listen to me
iii) Would you like a coffee?
Do you like a coffee?
iv) If I had enough money, I'd buy a new car.
If I have enough money, I'll buy a new car
PART C:
Mark the syllable that takes the main stress in the following words: e.g. tom O rrow

Comfortable
Police
PART D:
Look at the following text and identify the errors.
E.G. Information not informations, plural not necessary
TEXT:
My name is Luis Gonzalez. I would like some informations about your english course at Brooklands college. I am studying English since four years and would like take the first certificate examination. I need practices in speaking and listening. Also, could you tell me how much is the accomodation. My mothers sister lives in Weybridge, but I prefer staying with English family.
Any help would be appreciated

For this one - Would you give me some advices about your English course?
I don't think you need to change it quite so much as you did. Just put 'advice' instead of 'advices'.
The rest of Part A are perfect, in my opinion.
As for B, are you a native speaker? If so, I imagine you'll be able to see that there is a difference in meaning. Just explain it. eg.
He stopped listening to me - He was listening to me then he stopped listening to me
He stopped to listen to me - He stopped doing something else and listened to me instead.
(Question i is rather tricky, I agree!)
Part C is difficult to explain in writing. Do you know what 'word stress' is? Looking for it on Wikipedia or something.
Part D, if you're a native speaker just rewrite the sentences how you'd naturally write them. If you're not a native speaker look at each word and double check if it's right.
