Help, tips and advice in teaching English. Classroom problems, lesson planning, career advice, staff...
If I have come to the wrong forum, please re-direct me. I have a nephew, 19, who is considering TEFL training to teach English in a foreign country. What is the liklihood/possibility of being accepted for any post w/ no teaching or any other college degree anywhere. I am rather skeptical of his success w/ no training other than TEFL, but do not want to dissuade him w/out solid facts. Your input/advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.....Hal

Some countries and some schools will accept teachers without training and without experience. However, a potential teacher has a more limited choice of schools he / she can apply to without qualifications and work experience.
If your nephew chooses to do some TEFL training, advise him to ask whether teaching practice is included in the training course.
All the best
