How to design tuning in activities for a lesson

Hi Lucy,
Last time I told you that we are designing a coursebook on English for IT. I am having difficulty designing the tuning in (or lead - in) activities for each unit. Could you give me some advice on that. What should be taken into account when designing those tuning in activities and what types of tuning in activities are there?
