How do I choose a TEFL course?

Dear Lucy,

I am 21 years of age, have recently finished a four year degree in French and Spanish studies, and am thinking about undertaking a TEFL course in England. I am particularly interested in teaching in South America, perhaps Argentina, after I have completed the course. However, I am currently baffled at the amount of TEFL courses which appear whenever I search for information through the internet! I was wondering if you could perhaps give me some guidance on a particular course to follow, or even just a reliable website to use as I am unsure of where to turn for the best information.
