Learning through experience

Unread post by shshiri »

Hi, I'm Shiri.
I believe that students learn more efficiently through active participation, creative involvement and pleasant, original experience.
For instance, using media, interactive tools or simply letting the students do free research and show a presentation about a subject.
Do you have any ideas for ways to teach through a pleasant experience rather than frontal "dictation"?
Thanks

Hi Shiri,
I agree with you that students learn English more efficiently when they have the opportunities to actually use the language they are learning. I think in the classroom, teachers could design some activities that provide students with more opportunities to interact and communicate with each other. For example, in the activity of "information gap", students have to actually talk to their partner in order to get the information they need to finish the task.
