I'm planning to go to South East Asia for a year or so and I want to earn a living teaching English, although I don't have a teaching degree and English is not my mother tongue.
I found a great discount on a online TEFL course with Intesol Worldwide, but I understand that employers prefer face-to-face courses. However, these courses are very expensive, so I was wondering if it'd be a good start to do the online course for 120 hours and then, later on, pay for 20 or 40 hours of face-to-face training, so I don't have problems getting a job... Does that sound reasonable or should I just save money to do the full-time course when I get to SE Asia?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
