Help wanted from Turkey :)

Unread post by ufukufuk »

Hello everybody,

I've just joined this forum and I wanted to ask a couple of things to the friends who work in Asia as EFL teachers.

Well, I've been an English teacher for 2 years. I hold a B.A. degree in English Language and Literature department and have TEFL certificate. I decided to leave my country for a new experience and have been looking for a teaching job for a few weeks and I see "native speaker" as one of the requirements in almost all of the ads. Considering my status and qualifications what are my chances of finding a job in any of the countries like Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Japan or others. I am searching more but getting confused more too. Your comments will be of great help to me... ;)

It is very difficult to get a job abroad as a non-native teacher, and in Japan I'm afraid there is basically no chance. Not sure about the other countries.
