love to the country or love of the country

If a person is asked to write about love to the country or love of the country which one is more specific?

Are high and privileged refering to government position equal?

Is taken down appropriate to describe the fall of a building?

Is turned off equal to put off when you don't like something?

Can "it" be used to describe something that was previously mention or are "that and this" more appropriate?
