Which TESOL course in London?

Unread post by Stretch+ »

Hello,
I am looking at various part time TESOL courses in London, all of which claim to be Trinity accredited (I understand this to be the best one to go for apart from CELTA, ie one of the most internationally recognised - if there are others I should be considering please let me know) but I am struggling to find any reviews of the various courses. The ones I have found so far are: Teflab, Bloomsbury Square - £960+£110 for moderation, 12 weeks; Oxford Circus School - £995, 13 weeks; and Golders Green College - £899, 14 weeks.
Any advice on these or other part time courses which are worth considering would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Why not CELTA?

Trinity courses in London are much of a muchness - choose the closest and/ or cheapest would be my advice.

To be honest I had never heard of CELTA before I started looking into the TESOL courses - do you know what the main differences are and would you choose one over the other?

Hi Stretch: There is little to choose between a CELTA and a CertTESOL - they are both excellent courses. You may like to look at the FAQ below which, among other things, explains why you might choose one over the other. You can also find answers about other TEFL courses from the same page.

Cambridge CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL, SIT TESOL Certificate

Thanks for your help: I have read the FAQs and it looks as if the CELTA course is slightly more recognised, so probably worth doing - I would regret not doing it if I turned up for a job and it was the deciding factor when choosing between me and another candidate.
