Getting a teaching position soon after CELTA completion

Hi all,

I am planning to do a CELTA course in Bangkok. Since I'll be in the general area, I am hoping to travel around Japan and possibly China after completing the course. These are the places I would most like to work, so it would be very nice if I could apply for a few positions while I am there.

The IH Bangkok website says it takes about a month to receive the certificate and to have potential employers contact IH Bangkok until the certificate arrives. Are potential employers willing to take this extra step, or would it be a waste of time to look for jobs before receiving the physical certificate?
