Teaching Pre-Nursery.

Unread postby Damooster » 20 Aug 2013, 04:39

Hello everyone,

I have a full time job teaching at an international kindergarten in Hanoi, Vietnam. We teach children from 2 to 6 years old.

I have no difficulties teaching the Nursery, Pre-K and Kindergarten levels. However, I am having some problems teaching the pre-nursery class. Right now it consists of three students. Two of the students are smart but they have a very short attention span (about 10 minutes). The third child has a learning disability and just roams the classroom (his parents are aware of the situation and just asks me to "try").

I'm using the Fingerprints Level 1 material to teach them.

I've tried singing exercises (which works with everyone else). I've tried lots of hands-on approach, generating excitement with videos and lots of worksheets. I just can't seem to get them interested in the lessons.

Any advice? The students are all 2 years old and the class is for 30 minutes.
