What are you for? Isn't it your job to see to it that has enough practice?
My take is that you are wasting too much time on advice. We all do at first. I suggest you get her involved in a conversation - choose a text and plan some remarks that could be questioned in class.

First, it won't be easy, but at least you'll get the experience to move on.

Second, communication in class is always pseudo-communication, so make it a point that she understands it perfectly well. Don't pretend that you are interested in her opinion. But it will give her the necessary practice. When she feels at ease, she will speak with her friends without advice from a teacher - we love to do what we can.

If it helps,
