fixed expressions in written english

Unread post by majdnem »

Hi
:(
Been asked by one of my students (Japanese business student in an American company) for help with sending emails and letters. She's a kind of social coordinator in a big company and has to send written communications not just for business purposes but also offering thanks, congratulations or commiserations on visits, births, deaths and marriages etc. She wants to practice the kind of fixed phrases used in such communications. I've done a web search, but have come up with surprisingly little. Any suggestions, sources or materials anyone could provide or suggest would be really welcome.
Thanks!

Hi. If you type in "how to write personal and business letters" on google.com you will find many books. One that came up was Better Letters...a handbook of business and personal letters. email me if you need more on this subject. b.a.girga@zonnet.nl
