TOEIC question - subjunctive

Hi everybody. I´m preparing a student for the TOEIC exam and found this pearl that made me look bad. Please help.

56. Many people ______ that Diana Franklin wins the election tomorrow.

a. like
b. want
c. hope
d. expect

Well, obviously ´like´ is out of the question, ´hope´ would call for the subjunctive ´win´ therefore it is also a no go, what about ´expect´? Should it be treated like ´hope´? And, would ´want´ be ok, if not, why?

I´m puzzled. Thanks for any help.

Asked a friend who said the correct one is ´hope´ cause it doesn´t call for the subjunctive like ´pray´ for example.
´expect´ on the other hand should be followed by ´sth. to happen´. ´want´ follows suit.

Does anyone desagree?

It's definitely 'Hope that she wins.' Although it could be argued the subjunctive is more correct I think it sounds very archaic these days. Who would really say 'I hope that she win the election'?
Expect and Want are both followed by subject then the infinitive.

Doesn't look like a TOEIC question to me as there is no grammar in the exam - what paper is that supposed to be?
