Employment in Germany

I am intending to apply for a CELTA course in the Uk in April and am interested in teaching in Germany, especially Hamburg, although I have no German language skills as yet.
I was wondering what institutions I should apply to in Germany for jobs, state schools for children, language schools or colleges? Are there any agencies you would recommend please?
Thanks

I take it you haven't researched TEFL in Germany yet?!

To teach English in Germany you generally need to a good knowledge of German. It's unlikely that you would teach children as the demand in Germany is generally for Business English. Most schools hire you on a freelance basis, which wouldn't be so bad if you didn't have to make compulsory pension contributions (regardless of whether you plan to stay in the country or not) and take out compulsory health insurance. Between these two things and various taxes, you lose about 50% of your gross pay, and all BEFORE you've paid the rent! So, unless you are fluent in German, and have some teaching experience under your belt, I'd say Germany's best avoided.
